Bedford County Sheriff’s Office warns public of new scam involving lost dogs

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – Bedford County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a new scam involving lost dogs.

A scammer is texting lost dog owners claiming that their neighbor found the missing dog. When the owner asks for the neighbor’s address, the scammer claims that they gave their neighbor money to help care for the dog and won’t give out that information until the owner pays them back.

A few Bedford County citizens have already fallen victim to this, according to Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.

Bedford County Sheriff’s Office says do not send or give anyone money or gift cards if you are not sure about the person on the other end of the phone or text.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
