3 residents, dogs safe after AM Peoria house fire

PEORIA (25News Now) – An early Friday house fire in Peoria has left three residents and their dogs displaced.

Peoria firefighters were called to just before 7 a.m. to a home in the 5400 block of North Nottingham for a reported fire just outside of a home.

Firefighters reported smoke and flames coming from a hot tub when they arrived that had extended up the outside, rear of and into the home, the department said.

The outside flames were quickly put out before they began putting out the inside fire.

Heavy smoke and fire was found in the living room, kitchen and throughout the entire attic.

The remaining fire was put out within 15 minutes of making entry.

The fire was determined to be unintentional but the cause is still being investigated.

No one else was injured.
