Relatives of dog attack victim call for dog owners to come forward

The great nephew of Hector Pierna, a 78-year-old man who died following a vicious dog attack, is calling for the owners of the dogs to take responsibility. Pierna succumbed to his injuries on Monday at Christus Saint Elizabeth Hospital after being attacked by two pit bulls near his home.

The dogs are currently held at Beaumont Animal Care and are set to be euthanized after a quarantine period to check for rabies, according to the shelter. Beaumont Police and Beaumont Animal Care are still searching for the dogs’ owners.

Pierna was just two doors away from his home on Orange Street when the attack occurred. His great nephew, Will McGee, expressed his grief and frustration over the incident.

“If they would have just had their dogs up or put away, then I would still have an uncle today. Veronica and Palito would still have their father, my momma would have her uncle, my grandfather would have his brother, and it’s just sad for him to go out like that,” McGee said. “I can’t imagine the pain, he was fighting for his life, to be attacked.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
