Dr. Marie Russell was on the witness stand in the Karen Read case for the third time this year on Thursday, giving hours of testimony as prosecutors move forward with a bid to keep her from testifying during Read’s second trial next year.
Russell, a retired emergency room physician who spent decades working in California, testified during Read’s first trial last summer that the injuries sustained by her late boyfriend, John O’Keefe, were consistent with dog bites and a dog attack.
