Here’s Where You Can Holiday Shop With Your Dog In North Dakota

I really haven’t given all that much thought to my holiday shopping yet this year.

Anybody who knows me, this isn’t too unusual. I tend to procrastinate when it comes to things I really don’t enjoy a whole lot.

It’s not that I don’t enjoy giving, because I do ( I love it more than receiving) it’s just the whole shopping experience in general (long lines, finding a parking spot, coming up with gift ideas for people who give you no clue what to buy, etc).

One of my FAVORITE places to shop in general is Scheels.  Not only for holiday shopping, but birthdays, clothes, shoes, fishing, and hunting of course.

Now, I love shopping at Scheels even more when I found out they are one of the few retail stores that allow you to shop with your dog.

My son, who is a fishing and hunting sales associate at Scheels in Bismarck told me earlier this year you could shop with your dog. So, I brought my holy terror of a puppy to see him.

The whole time, I’m just praying she doesn’t drop a deuce or do something else destructive. Surprisingly she behaved pretty well. No bodily functions were dispensed.

This got me thinking, what other dog-friendly shopping stores are there across North Dakota?

Although most businesses allow service animals in their stores, there are a few stores like Scheels across the state of North Dakota that allow dogs to shop with you.

Basically, any store that has groceries or food laying out, does not allow dogs. This means places like Target, Walmart, or your favorite grocery store do not allow you to shop with your dog.

The popular weekend destination Menards does not allow you to shop with your pet. Even the soon-to-be-open Mills Fleet Farm in Bismarck does not allow dogs in most of their stores.

Here are the retail stores across North Dakota that DO allow dogs to shop with you (the list is bigger than I thought).

(Please check ahead of time with your local store to make sure they do allow dogs before you show up with your pup and be sure to have your dog leashed)

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
