Push to get 12 remaining dogs off GARD’s property

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Animal advocates have begun a last push to save the rest of the dogs on the GARD’s property. 250 plus dogs, 50 pot belly pigs, some roosters, cats, and birds– were all animals under GARD’s care before the Director and President, Joy Bohannon’s arrest on aggravated animal cruelty charges from August.

It’s a story we’ve covered extensively in recent months, and now 12 dogs still remain on the property. They can be seized and euthanized at any time by Bryan County Animal Control. According to animal advocates, They also have 4 dogs in foster care that need to be moved to new fosters (one of our volunteers is temporarily fostering them to keep them out of the cold until another foster can be found). Leaving a total of 16 needed foster homes or permanent homes.

Here are some of the dogs still in need of fosters:

According to a social media post from advocates pushing to save these dogs: “It’s going to be 24 degrees Tuesday morning. We need to get these dogs out of there and to safe, warm, loving foster homes!! Please help!! All they have is concrete! Bryan County plans to seize the remaining dogs here and with nowhere to place them- will euthanize them. If you can help us save a life, please text 912-665-4133″

One Love Animal Rescue does have a transport scheduled on January 18th to Deleware. However, at this time they do not know which dogs will be accepted on transport. Rescue partners have taken over 170 dogs for us from GARD so far, and they are hopeful that most of the dogs will be accepted. Any dogs that are not chosen will need to stay with their foster homes until they are adopted.

The post continues, “If you can help save a life, please text 912-665-4133 and fill out the foster application in the hyperlinks below.

One Love Animal Rescue supports their fosters 100%. They provide all food, and supplies (including crate, collar/harness/leash, bowls, toys, bedding, veterinary care, training, and more). There is zero cost to the foster. You just provide a loving home and a chance at life. You can also donate here if you are not able to foster or adopt.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
