Pilot who died in crash was transporting dogs from kill shelter

Pilot killed in Greene County crash fly dogs from high-euthanasia shelters.

The pilot who died in a crash in Greene County over the weekend was flying dogs that had been rescued from a high-kill shelter.

Seuk Kim, who was from Springfield, Virginia, crashed his plane on Sunday in a wooded area in the town of Windham. He was transporting three dogs to Albany International Airport, where they would then be taken to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley.

One dog named Lisa died in the crash, but two other survived. A four-month-old puppy lab mix named Whiskey had two broken legs, and he is undergoing surgeries. Pluto, a Yorkie terrier mix, has some bruises and internal and external bleeding and will need treatment for pulmonary contusions.

The dogs will be put up for adoption once they have healed.

ASSV Executive Director Maggie Jackman Pryor said Kim had volunteered his time to save the lives of hundreds of animals that otherwise would have been euthanized.

“His impact is huge – his personality, his smile, his love of the animals. He didn’t know any of these dogs when he picked him up, but by the time he would drop them off, they were, they were part of his family,” she said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
