My Foster Fail Story
I was just reflecting on how much I love my little snoggie doggie, Bruiser, and realized it’s been exactly five years since I “foster failed” him. Back in 2019, I was heartbroken after losing my 17-year-old heart doggie. It was devastating, and the only thing that brought me any comfort was scrolling through pictures of pups in need of homes. That’s when he appeared.
I’d always wanted a Min Pin, and there he was—a house-trained, kid-friendly Min Pin puppy. He was in Illinois, just a couple of hours away. I reached out to the rescue, and it turned out I went to scholol with the woman who ran it! She agreed to let me foster him since I wasn’t quite ready to adopt yet.
My bonus daughter and I drove to pick him up, and from the moment we got home, he made himself very comfortable—like he knew all along he wasn’t going anywhere. I hadn’t been looking to adopt, but God knew what my heart needed and had a plan in motion for me and my little Bruski.
