As Thanksgiving approaches, so does a beloved pet holiday tradition.
On Nov. 28, the 23rd annual National Dog Show Presented by Purina will air for families to enjoy on Thanksgiving. Animal lovers can expect a show with hundreds of dogs representing over 180 breeds. All of the pups are vying for the 2024 National Dog Show’s Best in Show title.
In 2023, the honor went to Stache the Sealyham Terrier, whose registered name is GCHP CH Goodspice Efbe Money Stache.
“It’s an exhilarating feeling to win,” Margery Good, Stache’s handler, said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE after the dog’s win.

The holiday presentation of the 2024 National Dog Show airs from 12 to 2 p.m. in all time zones on NBC and Peacock immediately after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Who hosts the National Dog Show?
Longtime hosts David Frei and John O’Hurley return for the Thanksgiving airing of the 2024 National Dog Show Presented by Purina. Sideline reporter Mary Carillo joins the duo.
The dog show itself is run by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, which has hosted an annual competition since 1879.
