DC dog shelter halfway through ’48 Dogs in 48 Hours’ challenge, fosters wanted

The D.C. Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) is looking for adopters and fosters to help make space in two D.C. animal shelters.

Adoption fees will be waived from Saturday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 24 as the HRA attempts to place 48 dogs or more into homes over the weekend.

As of Saturday night, 23 dogs have been adopted and there are more than 150 to choose from.

The HRA animal shelters will be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and are located at 71 Oglethorpe Street, NW, and 1201 New York Avenue, NE.
