Oklahoma City Animal Welfare launches ‘Home for the Holidays’ program for dogs

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is inviting the community to participate in its “Home for the Holidays” program, aiming to provide temporary homes for dogs, offering them a much-needed break from the kennel environment.

Citizens 18 and older, can “flash” foster a fully adoptable dog from the OKC Animal Shelter for up to two weeks.

According to the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare, participants can return the dog to the shelter or begin the adoption process at the end of the fostering period.

“This program is designed to benefit both pets and people,” said Animal Welfare Superintendent Jon Gary. “It gives dogs a break from the kennel environment and helps them connect with potential adopters.”

All participating dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives. Dogs are available on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability at the shelter. – Oklahoma City Animal Welfare

The community is encouraged to visit OKC Animal Welfare at 2811 SE 29th St., Tuesday to Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m., to help make a difference in a pet’s life.

The “Home for the Holidays” program will run until the end of the year, and people can bring a shelter pet home multiple times.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
