As the fall temperatures begin to cool, one of the best ways to give your dog a happy, healthy life filled with fun and exercise all year-round is by visiting your local dog park. Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation maintains five dog parks all around the city with open spaces for your dog to run, play and exercise – for free!
Our dog parks are more than just a fenced-in area. They are vibrant communities where dogs and their owners can connect, socialize and thrive.
Bayville Farms Park
Bayville Farms, located at 4132 First Court Road, has three separate fenced areas for small and large dogs. This park also features a new dog agility course!
Marshview Park
Located at 120 Marshview Drive, Marshview Park has four separate fenced areas for different-sized dogs and trees for shade. Dogs are naturally social animals that thrive on interaction with others. Regular visits to the dog park provide an excellent opportunity for your dog to meet and play with other dogs.
Salem Woods Park
This 1.72-acre dog park located at 1525 Salem Road includes trees for cover and is divided into two sections to accommodate both small and large dogs on both sides to play. The large park area offers great physical exercise for your pup – as the saying goes, “a tired dog is a happy dog!”
Woodstock Park
Located at 5709 Providence Road, Woodstock Park has two fenced areas to provide ample space for your pup to run, jump and play, ensuring they get the regular exercise they need to maintain a healthy weight and strengthen muscles.
Red Wing Park
Red Wing Park is currently closed to the public and will open Spring 2025. This park, located at 1398 General Booth Blvd., offers one acre of fun for dogs to run and play in a controlled area with two fenced-in areas.
