The Honorable Judge Jowls, a 3-year-old kitty, is among the cats available for adoption at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter, 1432 Tall Timber Road NE in New Philadelphia. He was found as a stray with an injured leg. Upon further evaluation and surgery, it was discovered that he had been shot through his left humerus, which destroyed the bone and the leg had to be amputated. The bullet lodged itself under his opposite leg and had to be surgically removed. He also appeared to have been attacked by a dog with puncture wounds below his jaw and behind his head. He was also covered in large ticks and fleas. So, buddy boy has had a very hard go at things and needed a lot of help when he came to the shelter. He is now completely recovered from all procedures and aliments and is ready to find a safe indoor home. He is a very sweet boy who is still getting use to not having a leg and can be off balance because of it. He loves his big cheeks rubbed and does well with the other cats in his adoption room. He is neutered and current on vaccinations and preventatives.
Cheetos, a 1-year-old pit boxer mix, is available at the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Animal Shelter. He was brought in through the humane officer after spending the first year of his life mostly in a crate in a barn. When he first came in he would hunker to the floor and scuttle away every time we would come near him. Now, a month later, he is the sweetest boy ever and loves to give hugs and kisses. He loves to dismember stuffed animals and tear around the runs outside. He lived with other dogs previously and there were reportedly dozens of feral cats living on the property. However, he can be cat tested for an approved application. If you come to the shelter to see Cheetos, let us know in the front first as he is a loud boy in his kennel. He likes you to know very loud and clear that he would like to go outside. He is neutered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption hours at the shelter are 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. The shelter is closed on Thursday. The phone number is 330-343-6060 and the website is www.tuschumanesociety.com.
