Fresno woman hurt after vicious attack by loose dogs during morning walk

A Fresno woman’s morning walk turned to pain and suffering when she was attacked by two dogs in southwest Fresno.

Officer Luke Tran says the victim was shaking and in pain when police and emergency responders arrived at the scene near Marks and Nielsen.

“They were just loose dogs and they came and attacked her. And that’s all the information we got from her,” Tran said.

Officer Tran says the woman suffered puncture wounds to both legs. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Over the past few weeks Fox26 News has shown you dogs running in packs, attacking cats. They even targeted a mailman.

The head of the Fresno Animal Center Alma Torres says those dogs have homes.

“So they have an owner. They are escaping the owners yard and they’re going out and coming right back to their home,” Torres said.

Torres encourages owners to check their fences to make sure there are no holes or areas where dogs can escape.

While the Fresno Animal Center is full, Torres says animal control will never ignore problem dogs on the loose.

“Animals that are sick, injured and also those that are being aggressive we’re responding to any of the public safety threats,” Torres said.

If you spot a pack of dogs and can follow them in your car, Torres says to call the Fresno customer service call center at 3-1-1 immediately.

That improves the chance animal control can locate the dogs.

Torres encourages owners to spay or neuter their pets. She says the city has low cost programs.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
