Kalamazoo firefighters rescue woman and 2 dogs from house fire, cat still missing

Firefighters in Kalamazoo rescued a woman and her two dogs from a house fire Tuesday afternoon, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

Emergency responders were called to a house on Egleston Avenue near Cameron Street around 4:15 p.m. after smoke was seen coming from the single-family structure, according to Fire Marshal Scott Brooks.

Firefighters were able to rescue the woman who lives in the home, as well as her two dogs, Brooks said.

However, the department is still looking for a cat that was inside of the house at the time of the fire.

The woman was treated for smoke inhalation but was otherwise OK and did not want to be taken to the hospital, according to Brooks.

At this time, Brooks does not believe there is evidence of arson.

This incident remains under investigation.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
