In October, the Animal Control Unit responded to Lindsey Street and found at least 14 dogs with feces caked into their paws, ribs exposed and some facing major medical issues. When deputies arrived, a neighbor told them that the homeowners had been absent for weeks, with dogs left behind dragging tethers and no sign of food or water.More than a dozen dogs were saved but three had already died from the deplorable conditions in which they were living, authorities said. The sheriff’s office said a search warrant of the property uncovered emaciated dogs and puppies, some with visible wounds. On Nov. 8, 25-year-old Tyler Jackson and 24-year-old Courtney Watson were arrested and charged with 17 counts of ill-treatment of animals and three counts of failure to bury. They were booked into the Anderson County Detention Center and face an $81,500 surety bond.
