Security cam films dog speaking up after being put inside for bad behavior

A security camera captured a dog’s epic reaction to getting in trouble, and social media viewers can’t get enough.

Ebba the Great Dane was outside with her owners enjoying the day, but she might have been having a little too much fun. A recent Instagram video posted to the dog’s account, @ebba_the_dane, said Ebba was “misbehaving.” The clip doesn’t show what she was doing, but it was enough for the owner to want to teach her a lesson.

In the clip, the backdoor opened and Ebba trotted inside with her head down. Staring at the door as it closed again, she couldn’t believe her fun time outside was over. They left her alone inside. And that didn’t sit right with her.

She spent the next few seconds pondering what she had done, running through the scenarios. But then she came to a conclusion: She did nothing wrong. Then she let the world hear her frustration as she growled and barked toward the other room.

Ebba was sentenced to a timeout, but she wasn’t having it. Owners often use this method to show their dogs that their actions or behaviors are unacceptable. However, the website Vet Explains Pets says putting dogs in a timeout is a “delicate process” that will need patience and consistency from owners.

The site’s article suggested sticking to a designated timeout area, using verbal cues to signal isolation and keeping the time short. You want the pet to reflect on its behavior, and too long might stress it out. Be sure to praise your dog’s good behavior because it will help reinforce what is right and wrong.

The hilarious Instagram clip has amassed over 355,000 views, 19,400 likes and 34 comments as of Monday. People couldn’t stop laughing at the dog’s all-too-relatable response for not getting what she wanted.

“She definitely called you all types of names when she was walking away,” commented one viewer.

Another added: “The face of what now? Or what did I do?”

Some viewers suspected the trouble wouldn’t stop there: “Now she’s gonna chew on the shoes and phone chargers.” However, the owner assured them that Ebba went to the couch to sulk.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
