She took them to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Last week, Johnson saw another dog that was starving. She took this animal to the Metairie Small Animal Hospital for treatment. The dog, named Marie, is being treated for malnutrition, parasites, anemia, and heartworm disease. Johnson and the Humane Society are holding a news conference to bring awareness to certain areas in New Orleans East where they are seeing dogs abandoned the most. The news conference is being held at 12:30 p.m.
