RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – One veteran in Logan County is getting honored by his community for his recent work with the animal shelter.
Steve Miller came to the Logan County Animal Shelter about 6 months ago, wanting to do some volunteer work.
Now, he walks their dogs a couple hours a day three to five days a week, walking between 5 & 10 dogs a day.
Staff we spoke to today say Steve was paralyzed from the waist down in a working accident prior to his time with the shelter, but he’s been heaven sent for their dogs.
“I mean, he’s been amazing with the dogs. He takes any of our dogs, from the shyest dogs we have. He has no fear of any of the dogs and he’s just an animal lover himself,” Logan County Animal Shelter director Aric Tousignant says.
We at News 40 want to send a huge thank you to all veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
