Both were transported to the hospital to be treated for dog bites and are expected to recover. However, the officer said he was forced to shoot the dog. Police have yet to confirm its fate, but NewsCenter 5 reporters at the scene saw what appears to be a dead dog across the field, with police taking photos of it.
