Reward increased to find driver who allegedly dragged dogs in DeKalb County

A reward of $5,000 was originally offered by several organizations. That has now been increased thanks to PETA.

ATLANTA — The reward to find the man who is accused of dragging two dogs tied to a rope behind his car in DeKalb County has increased.

A reward of $5,000 was originally offered by organizations Halo House for Dogs and Georgia Animal Rights and Protection.

Now, that reward has been upped to $15,000 thanks to a $10,000 addition by animal rights group PETA. The organizations are hoping for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the man.

The incident stems from Sept. 13, when video surveillance captured the car pulling into the parking lot of the Redan Recreation Center off Phillips Road near Lithonia at 8 p.m. The man allegedly dragged the two dogs behind his car with a rope tied to their necks for a mile.

One of the dogs, described as a medium-sized black colored mixed breed male, died. He was believed to be between 1 and 7 years old.

Someone gets out of the car, unties the dogs, and then drives off.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
