Dog finds cat’s litter tray, internet can’t cope with what he does next

A dog owner shared a video of her pup using the cat’s litter box to go potty, and internet users can’t stop laughing at it.

In a viral TikTok video shared in September under the username @samantics4, the white pit bull can be seen standing on his hind legs right by the cat’s litter box, looking like a man as he urinates in it.

“In honor of my dog’s sixth birthday, here is him, standing like a human man, peeing directly into my cat’s litter box,” reads layover text in the clip. A caption adds: “His aim is better than most actual human men.” Newsweek reached out to @samantics4 for comment via TikTok comments. We could not verify the details of the case.

It is not unusual for dogs to use a cat’s litter box, and not unusual for them to eat the poop they find inside it. This is not only disgusting because your pup will then go on to lick your face, but it can also be very dangerous for them.

An article by Dr. Beth Turner published by Preventive Vet says that cat poop can not only cause digestive upset for dogs, but also transmit harmful parasites and bacteria such as roundworms and salmonella.

Moreover, some types of litter may contain a compound called sodium bentonite, which can be very toxic for dogs when ingested. And if you use scented litter, your pup may also be allergic to it.

If your dog is not yet potty trained, you can easily do so by using positive reinforcement, rewarding them when they do well, and ignoring their mistakes to avoid making things worse. It is important that you take them out at the right time, like after food, drink, exercise, a nap, or when they get too excited.

British animal charity Dogs Trust says you should also learn how to read the signs that your pup needs go to toilet, to stop them from doing it indoors. These signs often include sniffing the ground, turning in a circle and starting to squat.

If your dog has an accident indoors during training, don’t stop them in the middle of the act. Wait until they are done and avoid telling them off. Instead, get cleaning with a biological cleaning preparation, and make sure there is no more smell left in the area.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 2.9 million views and more than 316,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Clairegivens92, commented: “I don’t know any men who have this accuracy.”

Parishilton4potus added: “I don’t know how to explain this but this feels like a personal attack against the cat.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
