With local shelters full, these dogs need adopting to avoid being put to sleep

Information from local Dog Control Officers (DCO), gallery of photos at the end

These dogs, a Husky and a Pit Mix, have been at the kennel for close to three weeks. Local shelters and rescues are so full that local dog control officers (DCO’s) are having difficulty placing them. None of the DCO’s want to put these dogs down because they are so sweet and it’s not the dogs fault that the owners gave up on them.

Adoption is free and the DCIO’s will work with whoever is adopting and rabies shots and getting the dogs fixed.

The HUSKY is probably around 5 years old, intact male. Awesome temperament. Very calm, and just wants attention. He will do the husky yell if he wants something … but that’s normal. He has not shown any signs of aggression with his kennel mate, but the DCO’s have not tested the Husky around kids, other dogs or cats. He does know his basic commands and is house broke.

The PIT MIX is young, maybe 2- to 3-years-old, intact male. A gentle giant, but also very strong on a leash. House broke, no aggression with dogs, cats or kids. Knows his basic commands.
He at some point in his life had some trauma because be has a very noticeable scar around his neck and chest.

You can contact local DCO for Whitesville for the husky at 716-575-5019, and the Wellsville DCO at 585-808-1708 for the pit mix.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
