An elderly woman was partially eaten by her neighbor’s dogs after she stumbled in her driveway.
The woman, from Louisiana who remains unidentified, was walking down her driveway on Randall Avenue in Livingston Parish on Tuesday when she fell.
As she attempted to rise, she was attacked by her neighbor’s dogs, neighbor Randall Averette revealed.
Averette described the horrific scene: “When I went over there, she was laying on the ground, paramedics bandaging her up.” He described her injuries as “graphic.” He added: “The paramedics said she was torn up pretty good around her calf, her right leg was bit, her arm was bit and the dog bit her on the back of her neck.”

Another neighbor witnessed the brutal attack and immediately dialed 911 upon seeing the woman on the ground. Cheryl Boudreaux, the daughter of the witness, described her mother’s distressing call for help: “She had to stand there and watch it.”
She added: “She was like, “Y’all need to hurry up and get here. Hurry up and get here. They are eating this woman. Then, Mama said the lady wasn’t moving and Mama thought she was dead.”

The woman was rushed to hospital. In the meantime, Maria Vincent has been arrested and charged with negligent injuring and allowing her dogs to run rampant.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard issued a stern warning to other dog owners. He said: “You can be charged with negligent injuring and you can be sued by these homeowners for medical bills. It’s going to come back to bite you, that’s what’s going to happen.”
But Ard noted this was not the first time Vincent’s dogs attacked a person, saying she had been cited before for a past incident in which one of the dogs bit a person.

Unfortunately, in that case, investigators were unable to determine which dog was involved. He said: “She’s been through the system already, she’s been fined. Here we are again, same dog, same situation. Now someone’s seriously hurt, something has got to change.”
Bourdeaux also claimed her mum has been bitten twice by the same dogs, but was afraid to speak up.
“My mum is 85 years old, both times she required medical attention,” the worried daughter said.

She argued that it was not right that multiple people had to get injured for something to change.
“We’re just furious, you know, because we don’t understand why it had to get to this,” she told the news station.

“They finally took the dogs away, that’s the first time.”
Ard also confirmed that all three dogs were taken to Livingston Parish Animal Control Center on Wednesday, saying the owner surrendered two of them.
The fate of the surrendered dogs remains unclear. However, Ard advised that people should take measures to protect themselves when they encounter a dangerous dog. “You do whatever you think is necessary,” Ard recommended.
“You have a right to protect you, your property, your kids.”
