Jak’s Rescue saves family of dogs, including a puppy now touring with Pink

Founded on the belief that every animal deserves a second chance, Jak’s Second Chance Rescue Ranch takes in pets from situations of neglect, provides them with necessary medical treatment, care, and prepares them for loving adoptive families.

They recently had a whole family of dogs to take in. One of the rescues possess a special story.

“I got a call from a family in Vilonia, who had found a mama dog on the back of their property, and they needed some help, basically getting the puppies out of the woods, says Director of Jak’s Rescue, Jenny Wall-Bridges.

“They were under a pile of debris, way back on a four-wheeler trail. And so, I hopped in the car and went to check it out. When I saw the mama and what condition she was in, and saw where the puppies were at, I was really concerned that they may not be safe out there.”

A little girl named Autumn who loves puppies, had been sneaking into the woods near her home to feed a mother dog. Once her own mother found out, she called Jak’s Rescue to help.

“Unfortunately, we live in a community where dog dumping is pretty common. And so, we’ve seen this before. But with this rescue, I had caught the girls on the four-wheeler, and they were taking dog food out to the woods,” says Autumn’s mother, Becky Harding.

“I wondered what they were doing so I got on the four-wheeler, and they drove me out there. I saw the momma dog and the puppies, and we knew right away this was more than we could take on. I had to call somebody for help. It was no doubt I was going to call Jenny, and they were able to come out. It just so happened to be Miss Autumn’s birthday the day that they were rescued.

After the rescue, the mother dog was named after Autumn.

Jak’s Rescue adopted all but five puppies and reached out to another organization called The Bond Between – also a nonprofit animal rescue, in Minnesota.

“We heard about Autumn and her puppies from Jak’s and we ended up saying yes to them to bringing them up to Minnesota. They went to a loving foster home,” says Rachel Mairose, Founder and Executive Director of The Bond Between.

One of the puppies being fostered is going on tour with the singer, Pink.

“We got an email early afternoon, that said ‘hey I’m Pink’s manager and she wants to foster one of these puppies.’ Three hours later, we are meeting Pink at the Excel Energy Center right before her show. It was absolutely a whirlwind, says Mairose.

“It’s crazy to think this little puppy who was found in the woods is now touring with Pink. Just absolutely mind-blowing.”

“His name is Graham Cracker. He’s currently peeing all over my dressing room. We’re actually, I haven’t told anybody this yet, but we’re going to foster him for the tour, and he’s going to go on this big carnival adventure with us,” says Pink.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
