Those attacks spilled over to neighboring streets. “My mom was out here getting ready to set up for trick-or-treaters. I was on my way down to bring my kids down to trick-or-treat, and two dogs approached her and attacked her,” Mary Harlet said. Those dogs ran up to the woman’s porch and viciously attacked her, causing injuries to her arm and chest, according to her daughter.Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 was able to obtain video from a neighbor who says he watched the attacks unfold. One of those men injured was Michael Scutack, whose wife saw the aftermath. “He’s just, like, blood from head to toe,” Scutack said. Her husband is now in the hospital with a severe injury to his face, as well as injuries to his arm and leg. Police are still investigating how the dogs were able to escape, but after searching the apartment, they say there is evidence these adult dogs, along with two puppies, had been left alone in what they call deplorable conditions. They say the puppies were not involved in the attack.”No dog should go after somebody like that,” Scutack said.Tarentum police say one of the adult dogs had to be put down, while the other one was taken into custody by the humane officer. Residents were asked to shelter in place while officers attempted to locate all of the dogs. Police were unsure exactly how many people were injured, but they say at least five people sustained injuries. Those injuries range from severe to non-life-threatening. Police say the other adult dog involved in the attack will likely be euthanized.Download the WTAE app to stay connected with breaking news.
