8 dogs die in Kingsburg mobile home fire

Eight dogs died in a mobile home fire Thursday morning in Kingsburg.

The Fresno County Fire Department says they responded to calls of a mobile home on fire around 7:15 a.m. near6th Avenue Drive and Mehlert Street, south of Kern Street in Kingsburg.

When crews arrived they found the mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

A couple living inside was able to escape, however, eight dogs were trapped inside.

When the flames were put out, firefighters discovered all eight dogs had died in the fire.

There were no other injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
