Authorities searching for ‘missing and endangered’ Beaufort County woman”The only reason that someone would tie two dogs to the back of a car would be to hurt or to kill them,” Simms-Chaffins said.Laydon, a 10-month-old dog, survived the ordeal and is recovering at DeKalb County Animal Services.The other dog, a medium-sized black mixed-breed collie, did not survive. “Instead of just pulling out like you normally would, he actually backed out of the parking lot which made it impossible for us to see his license plate (in the video),” Simms-Chaffins said.The DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office describes the suspect’s vehicle as a dark four-door sedan, likely a 2008 to 2012 Chevrolet Malibu.The driver was wearing a white ballcap, dark pants, and a gray top with a white logo on the front and white writing on the back.”Lifeline has already found him someone to adopt (Laydon). So hopefully he will be going home soon,” Simms-Chaffins said.The DeKalb County police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
