CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Two Greater Cincinnati dogs were reunited with their owner after a passerby found the dogs in a body of water.
According to Cincinnati Animal CARE, a good Samaritan named Caity notified the Hamilton County Dog Warden about two dogs struggling to stay afloat in the Mill Creek Watershed in Northside on Sunday.
Two deputy dog wardens, Prusz and Burling, were sent to the area and successfully got the dogs out of the water about an hour later, the animal shelter said.
The pups were transported to Cincinnati Animal CARE for evaluation and were deemed healthy.
“We are so grateful to our community for alerting us to the situation, and our wardens for jumping into action and going above and beyond to help these dogs. They are now safe and resting at the shelter, as we work to learn more about how these dogs ended up where they were. If you see something, say something– you might just save a life, or TWO!” Cincinnati Animal CARE staff wrote online.
The animal shelter told FOX19 NOW that they are not sure how the dogs ended up in the creek’s watershed, but that they were reunited with their owner that same day, who had been looking for them.
