Four-legged ‘therapists’ take over North River Fire Rescue

PALMETTO, Fla. (WWSB) – After devastating storms hit the Suncoast, one organization said thank you to our local first responders. Dogs Inc sent dozens of cuddly pups to several fire stations across the area on Monday for National First Responders Day.

The organization wanted to bring healing to first responders who have given so much these past couple of months.

At North River Fire District in Palmetto, four dogs played with the first responders, and office employees, for the morning. The Chief at the station expressed gratitude for the love that these pups give.

“I’m telling you it takes your mind off of things, for even a minute,” said Chief Joseph Sickler. “We’re here for the community 24/7, everything they need, but it has been quite busy,” said the Chief.

The station has their very own service dog from Dogs Inc. His name is Drew and they tell ABC7 that Drew brings them a lot of comfort through difficult times.

“It reminds you that there’s a lot of positives in life,” said Dogs Inc director of Service Animals, Emily Dombrowski. “They can help bring resilience in folks who are doing really hard work,” said the director.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
