There are so many adorable dogs who need to be adopted in our local shelters. We teamed up with Dog Coalition of LA, a Larchmont Village-based nonprofit that offers a unique program fostering dogs (~35 lbs and over) directly from the shelter. DCLA carefully selects shelter dogs based on their personalities, energy, and needs. Then, they match them with fosters based on lifestyle compatibility, household members, and previous experience.
Fosters in the DCLA program receive comprehensive support, including basic training, weekly calls, and access to a community of fellow fosters and socialization activities like pack walks and playgroups. The DCLA program helps shelter dogs adjust to life outside the shelter so they can be successfully adopted. DCLA also actively promotes dog adoption online and at in-person meet-and-greet events.
Every week or so, we will feature a dog that’s ready to be adopted or needs to be fostered.
This week we are delighted to introduce Lovely Lilah Blu. She is 4 years old and 60lbs. She’s great with big and small dogs and super affectionate and engaging with her volunteer friends. She has been waiting at the East Valley Shelter since January.

You can find DCLA at Taillwaggers on Sunday during the Larchmont Family Fair, where they will be holding an adoption event from 11 am – 3 pm. Taillwaggers generously donates a welcome package for all adoptive parents.
