BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Animal Rescue League of Boston has saved 10 dogs that were in areas hit hard by Hurricane Milton, and the majority of them are ready to be adopted.
The dogs will be up for adoption at the Brewster Animal Care and Adoption Center.
Just last week, the ARL urged people to adopt as they needed to make room for an expected influx of dogs from Florida. ARL partnered up with Best Friends Animal Society to facilitate the transfer.

“Any type of freeing up resources allows us to continue to support other organizations in situations like these,” said Sam Fincke with the ARL. “We’ve been moving animals around within our own organization to make room, and to be able to ensure that we have the resources to take on the care of these dogs.”
ARL said it’s prepared to take in more dogs if need be, and it’s encouraging people to donate.
“With limited resources and no government funding, donations are critical to providing shelter, medical care, and homes for these animals,” ARL said in a statement.
