RPD officers rescue elderly couple, two dogs from burning home

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at approximately 12:32 a.m., the Ridgecrest Police Department’s Communications Center, operated by Dispatchers Peterson and Luque, received multiple 911 calls reporting a house fire with visible flames and smoke on Evelyn Court. The initial call was promptly transferred to the Kern County Fire Department, while Ridgecrest Police personnel — Sergeant Lloyd and Officers Quiroz, Solorzano, and Benites — immediately responded, lights and sirens activated.

Officer Quiroz arrived on the scene just three minutes after the first call, with his fellow officers close behind. Upon arrival, officers noted that no one was outside the burning home, suggesting that the residents were likely still inside. With flames intensifying and smoke thickening, the officers made the courageous decision to enter the home, fully aware of the imminent danger to their own safety.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
