Ryan’s Family Amusements at Hanover Crossing is going to the dogs this Saturday as part of its second Community Safety Day.
The Saturday, Oct. 19 event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be headlined by the K-9 stars of local law enforcement.
Guests are invited to meet the pack of hardworking dogs from the Hanover police and Plymouth County Sheriff’s departments. The pack will include some young pups who are undergoing comfort dog training.
Comfort dogs and their law enforcement handlers serve the community by offering a coping mechanism for people experiencing crisis or traumatic events. The working K-9s of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department serve several roles, including security, narcotics searches, locating missing persons, ballistics detections and community outreach.
“They also act as goodwill ambassadors, helping foster positive relationships between the police and the public,” Ryan’s said in a statement announcing the event.

Event includes ID cards for kids, free raffle to win a birthday party at Ryan’s Amusements
Sheriff department staff will also take photos and create laminated ID cards for kids that look similar to a driver’s license with their picture.
The event will also include safety handouts, giveaways and the chance to enter a free raffle to win a Ryan’s birthday party for 10 people.
Ryan’s is located at Hanover Crossing, 1775 Washington St., Hanover.
