GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – The 2024 Australian Shepherd Club of America Dog Specialty Show kicked-off day four on Monday.
The show will be a week long event in Grand Island at Fonner Park. Dog show competitors have traveled all across the world to participate in this years competition. Throughout the event, there will be multiple categories happening where Australian shepherds and their partner will show off skills in conformation, tracking, agility and other categories in hopes to qualify for first place.
Chris Prein, who traveled from Austria to showcase his dog in the agility competition, said the event in America has a lot chaos compared to Europe, but it’s a lot of fun.
“Being with all these crazy people together and having fun with all the dogs with the same breed and everyone is just loving the dogs here.” Prein said. “And it’s just fun to watch them competing with their partners and also my daughter is competing here of you know I am very proud of this.”
Prein said this is his first time in Nebraska, but he is no stranger to dog show competition with over 12 years experience.
Prein said he’s mostly looking forward to his daughter competing in America, along with their three Australian Shepherds.
