Video shows rescuer lowered into 14-foot hole in Florida to rescue trapped dog

A rescuer went into a 14-foot deep cave in Florida to rescue a dog that had fallen in.

Bella the dog was rescued shortly after 7 p.m. on Oct. 1, after her owner alerted authorities that she had fallen into an “approximate 14-foot hole,” in Ocala, the Marion County Fire Rescue said in a post on Facebook.

Authorities arrived on scene to find Bella trapped in the hole, following which a “rescuer was lowered into the cave” to extradite her.

Video footage from the incident shows the rescue strapped into a harness suspended from a fire truck’s ladder and slowly lowered into the hole. Both the rescuer and Bella were hoisted back above ground after the dog was secured.

“Firefighters removed her from the cave and returned her safely to her owner,” the post said.

It is not immediately clear how Bella ended up in the hole. The Marion County Fire Rescue did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for more information on the incident.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
