Hit-and-run kills pedestrian, dog in Florissant

“A deceased dog, believed to belong to the victim, was also located nearby,” police said.

FLORISSANT, Mo. — A Saturday morning hit-and-run crash killed a man walking his dog in Florissant, a police spokesperson said.

The crash happened near the intersection of Waterford Drive and St. Anthony Lane around 7 a.m., killing the 62-year-old victim.

“A deceased dog, believed to belong to the victim, was also located nearby,” police said.

Officers with the Florissant Police Department responded to the scene, the spokesperson said. Officers found the man in the roadway when they arrived.

“Officers are currently investigating this case as a hit-and-run,” the police spokesperson said. “We ask residents to use an alternate route while the investigation is ongoing.”
