Dog Crocs for pets of all sizes coming soon: When to buy, price

You know fashion has gone to the dogs when Crocs announces it is coming out with Pet Crocs, a version of the classic Crocs clog made just for pups. They will retail for $50 a pair.

Those that wear the human version and have dogs will surely be in croc heaven. Crocs announced Wednesday, Oct. 9 that the new product is part of a collaboration with BARK, the dog toy maker and pet product subscription service. BARK helped Crocs design the upcoming dog shoes.

Pet Crocs will come in two fun colors: green slime and dragon fruit.

According to Crocs, pet owners have been requesting dog shoes for a while. In El Paso, they might come especially handy since concrete sidewalks get pretty hot in the summer and can burn pets’ feet.

The dog booties, coming Oct. 23, which is Croc Day, will be available in two unique glow-in-the-dark marbled colors – green slime and dragon fruit pink. Dog owners can check out the shoes at www.crocs.com

The shoes will be available in three sizes to accommodate paws of all sizes. Plus, for a limited time, customers can pick up a pair of matching Classic Lined Clogs.

El Pasoan Victoria Santellano, who runs a dog leash and other dog product business, Boots at Your Service, knows quite well about doggies and their fashionable feet. She has been selling a similar product of plastic shoes for dogs, Wagwear’s WagWellies, since the summer. She is often at craft fairs and themed conventions around El Paso.

“They are getting pretty popular and have been expanding in colors and sizes,” she said of the WagWellies. They sell for about $45 a pair.

Santellano said the croc-like shoes have a slit on the sides so they don’t rub on the dog’s dew claw and the holes helps with air flow so they keep the dog’s paws from overheating. The shoes are fastened with a Velcro strip.

“Depending on the size of the shoes, you can also fit little charms on them,” she said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
