TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – It’s great dog-walking weather right now and there are dozens of dogs who would love to join you!
Furry Friday is a collaboration between WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center designed to get dogs awaiting adoption out of their kennels and into the spotlight in hopes of finding their fur-ever families.
Here are the dogs we are featuring this week:
PORTIA
Meet Portia!
This four year old is friendly and happy and ready to soak up all the attention and affection you have to give!
She came into the shelter with her puppy. It’s found a home, but she’s still waiting.
Portia loves people and dogs. She’s loyal and easygoing and is excited to learn new things if there are treats and hugs involved!
If Portia is the walking companion and snuggle bug you’re dreaming of, you can meet her this weekend at the shelter.
BERNIE
Meet Bernie!
He is a speedster. This one year old loves to run and explore.
He’s active and smart and loves treats, so learning new things is downright delicious to him!
When he’s not on the move, Bernie is a laid back companion and appreciates just hanging out with his human!
You can meet Bernie and check out his fancy coat at the shelter this weekend.
BUTTER PECAN
Meet Butter Pecan. Yup, just like the ice cream!
This sweet girl is cautious and shy and likes to keep calm, but she warms up quickly and will melt your heart!
Butter Pecan excels at smiling for the camera and showing off her fancy ears.
She’s into grown ups and going for long walks.
If Butter Pecan is the perfect flavor of pup for you, you can meet her this weekend at the shelter.
RAINBOW BRITE
Meet Rainbow Brite.
This caramel-colored cutie is everything her name suggests.
Rainbow Brite is full of life and love and will brighten up any day.
She loves belly rubs and being properly spoiled!
This girl still has plenty of puppy energy and is looking for an active, affectionate family who can help her learn and grow.
If you have a spot in your heart and home for this fun-loving pup, you can visit her this weekend at the shelter.
MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Services Center this weekend.
People can walk through the kennels Wednesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. People can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Check out the dogs and cats available for adoption on the shelter’s website.
Adoption fees are $20 for cats and $30 for dogs. That fee includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, Martingale collar and leash, and a small bag of food.
CONGRATULATIONS!
We are excited to share that three dogs previously featured on Furry Friday have been adopted in the past week!
Congratulations to Key, Chicken and Marlin and all of their new fur-ever families!
