A cavapoo was filmed pinning his brother to the wall with his paws during a heated fight, and the video of their brawl has turned the dogs into social-media sensations.
The hilarious TikTok clip shared on Wednesday by the pups’ owner, @cristinboylanx, shows both pups standing on their hind legs as they engage in a fight; Douglas, the cavapoo, uses his paws to pin his Jack Russell brother Chico to the wall, just like drunk people at the bar. Newsweek reached out to @cristinboylanx for comment via TikTok comments. We could not verify the details of the case.
While canine fights are not uncommon in multiple-dog households, sometimes your pups may just be rough-playing. But how can you tell when your pups are fighting from when they are playing? The American Kennel Club (AKC) says that it is all in their body language.
If their ears are relaxed and floppy, their mouths hanging open, and they are taking turns doing the chasing and biting, chances are they are probably just playing a little bit too hard. When dogs fight, their ears usually appear tense and stiff, their lips tight, and their movements fast.
In most cases, dogs will show signs of distress before engaging in a fight. These signs include: vocalizing, either with a growl, whine, or bark; tail tucking; ears flattening; showing whale eye [a dog will turn its head slightly and the whites of its eyes will appear as a half-moon]; lip-licking; panting, pacing, yawning; and excessive sniffing, as suggested by the AKC website.
Dogs usually fight for things such toys, food, and territory, or because they feel threatened. But, whatever it is they are fighting for, you should stop them before they get hurt. How to stop them depends on the type of fight that is taking place.
In an article for Preventive Vet, certified dog trainer Cathy Madson says that there are three different types of dog fights, known as “scuffle, scissor, and grab.”
Scuffle is when they bark a lot but take little action, and it can easily be stopped by making a loud noise to grab their attention, spraying them with water and separating them.
Scissor is when there are bite attempts, but not grab-and-hold biting, and this can be stopped, with the help of another person, by lifting each dog from the bag and carrying them like wheelbarrows away from each other.
Grab is when they are biting, grabbing and holding each other, and may be stopped with citronella spray, and by taking control of the biting dog, with the help of another person, to help release the other canine.
You should never put your hands directly into a dogfight, nor kick nor hit the dogs involved.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 3 million views and more than 602,000 likes on the platform.
One user, Danni Wiltshire, commented: “This is the funniest thing I’ve seen in ages.”
