Henderson County uses harnessed dogs to help elevate Helene search efforts

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Henderson County Rescue Squad has added the Virginia Department of Emergency Management’s human remain detection (HRD) dogs to elevate Helene search efforts in the area.

The rescue squad said a recent mission in Bat Cave required a “highline” across the river. This rigging system allows for safe and efficient access across dangerous conditions for patients and rescuers.

“‘Rescuers’ includes four-legged teammates who are used to help find victims and or bring closure to families,” the rescue squad said.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
