Handbags worth $550k stolen from designer store in Melbourne

More than $550,000 worth of luxury handbags were stolen from a designer consignment store in Melbourne, with CCTV capturing the brazen act.

Three men broke into the luxury store Emier, located inside shopping centre The Glen in Glen Waverley, in the early hours of September 16.

The trio parked a silver 2008 Range Rover Discovery on Snedden Rd just after 2.30am before entering the store where they smashed several display cabinets, police said.

CCTV captured the men, all dressed in black, stealing more than 20 Hermes designer handbags and stuffing them into a large bag.

They then fled the scene in the Range Rover.

Police are still hunting for the thieves a month later and are appealing to the public for assistance.

“Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have been in the area at the time,”
