Some of protesters from the dog meat industry groups shaved their heads in protest over the dog meat ban, ending the controversial centuries-old tradition.
Last month, the agriculture ministry announced that the government will help rehome almost half a million dogs bred for food and give dog farmers subsidies and incentives to help them prepare for the ban in early 2027.
The government plans to spend about $75 million on incentives for dog breeders, farmers and restaurants to shut their businesses.
The dog meat industry groups said the government aid provided was insufficient and vowed to fight for better support.
