DETAILS:
- Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a structure fire.
- Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from a strip mall.
- The assignment was quickly balanced to a working fire.
- Crews pulled multiple hose lines and forced entry into multiple businesses.
- Per a Phoenix Fire Captain on scene, one of the businesses was occupied by an adult female and multiple animals at the time of the fire.
- The woman was able to safely evacuate but the animals were still inside.
- Fire crews rescued 4 dogs from the occupied business.
- 1 of the 4 dogs was unresponsive upon rescue.
- Phoenix Fire crews utilized the Fido Bag on all 4 dogs.
- The unresponsive dog was successfully resuscitated following oxygen treatment from the Fido Bag.
- The remaining 3 dogs were treated with the Fido Bag as a precaution.
- 1 pet bird and a chinchilla were found deceased inside the fire occupancy.
