Interim MAS director Mary Borys said Thursday that the facility has taken in more than 180 dogs in the previous nine days, putting them at overcapacity. FOX13 has investigated the growing problem with strays and that’s a big part of this current crisis.
In an Instagram post, MAS said the facility is in “a crisis mode.”

The shelter said 111 of the 180 animals were strays.
If these dogs can’t find forever homes, they may have to be put down.
MAS is offering the free adoptions until Oct. 15. The facility is located at 2350 Appling City Cove in Memphis.
