TikToker’s house is now being investigated by Columbus homicide after two cadaver dogs hit on buried rug

What began as a mysterious but lighthearted “what if” string of videos from local TikToker Katie Santry has suddenly become very real.

In case you missed it, several days ago while digging a fence post, Santry and her husband found a rug buried approximately two and a half feet deep in the yard of their Columbus home. You can read a full recap here.

It was first inspected by Columbus police, who initially considered calling homicide, but did not. Just a handful of days later, Columbus homicide did show up, and not one, but two cadaver dogs alerted in the area of the rug, according to Santry and her videos.

This is not what i thought was going to happen. Both dogs sat at the hole. Very quickly, the police were here to caution the house off and news stations waiting. This is insane. I will get s better video togwther soon.

Her house was taped off last night, and as of this morning, Columbus Police are beginning to dig.

“So, everybody’s here. There’s a tent set up with nine police officers, CSI in the backyard. They’ve blocked how far I’m allowed to even go,” Santry said on TikTok.

According to one of Santry’s previous videos, she was able to get in touch with the daughter of the home’s previous owner (the home’s only owners before Santry), who said it’s likely not a dog or pet, as all of their dogs who passed were cremated. Santry said the previous owners of the home are in their 90s and in assisted living.

“I thought I was going to get a quick answer, I thought the daughter was going to be like ‘Oh yeah, for sure, we buried our dog Harold under that tree. Case closed. Dunzo.’” Santry said about her conversation with the previous homeowner’s daughter. “That’s not what happened.”

This is a developing story, we will update it as more information becomes available.
