Tri-State canine a semi-finalist for Hero Dog award

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A courageous canine from the Tri-State is a semi-finalist for American Humane’s 2024 Hero Dog award.

Lieutenant Dan, from New Richmond, Ohio, is one of the 25 semi-finalists.

The Hero Dog Awards is a nationwide competition that searches for and recognizes America’s standout dogs in five categories: therapy dogs, service and guide dogs, military dogs, law enforcement and first responder dogs, and emerging hero dogs.

Lt. Dan is one of five dogs in the “Emerging Hero” category.
