A Louisville animal shelter is asking for help to care for rural dogs affected by recent tornados. The Animal Care Society of Louisville accepted 12 dogs from the Muhlenberg County Humane Society. See video of the dogs in the player above.The Humane Society lost multiple kennels after storms caused flooding inside their facility. “We’re fortunate at the Animal Care Society that we have the space and community support to provide services like this to rural counties and rural shelters that need a lending hand in time of disaster like this, but we can’t do it without the support of our community,” said Jason Wetherington, Executive Director of the ACS.With the increase of animals in the shelter, the ACS is asking the community to adopt or foster a pet.The shelter is also taking donations to care for the animals.
