NORTH PROVIDENCE – On Sept. 21 members of the National Education for Assistance Dog Services (NEADS) visited the North Providence Fire Department for a training session with service dogs.
The session included getting the dogs acquainted with firefighters in their turnout gear, as well as with the different sounds and smells associated with the fire service. The session lasted for about two hours, and Acting Fire Chief John Horan said it was very beneficial for the dogs to encounter this environment.
