The moment dog in shelter for three months thanks owner for saving him

A video of a dog thanking his new family within seconds of their finishing the adoption paperwork became an instant tearjerker.

McFlurry, a pit bull mix, was a homeless dog for over two years before living in an animal shelter for about three months. His present owner said in the comments section of an August 16 TikTok video that not much was known about McFlurry’s background. He was “found abandoned around a reserve and wandering with a small female dog for some time.” His body was covered in scars.

After being found, he was taken to a California shelter, where he lived for about three months before his adopters saw him and instantly fell in love, captivated by his two different colored eyes and Oreo milkshake coloring. They knew he would fit in perfectly with the family and began the adoption application.

Soon enough, they were back at the shelter to finish the paperwork and take McFlurry home. The bully mix must’ve known it was time to finally go home because he sat there waiting with a smile plastered across his face, as seen in the clip posted by user @mcflurrythebully. He placed his front paws on the counter to check that the paperwork was coming along before jumping up to hug his new owner.

He couldn’t wait a second longer to thank his owners for adopting him and giving him a second chance at a loving life. His hug was the first of many to come.

The “thank-you’s” only continued when they brought him to his forever home. The owners told Newsweek via TikTok that McFlurry had a similar reaction to the dog they rescued from Bali: nothing but “love and gratitude.”

“You can see pure joy in his eyes and smile,” they said. “He is a perfect fit for our family and adjusting well.”

The heartwarming TikTok video reached over 73,800 views, 18,300 likes and 827 comments as of Monday.

“That is love my man. Pure and unadulterated,” said a viewer, while another added: “How he knows you’re saving him.”

A third person commented: “Congrats buddy. Enjoy this new life u so deserve. Thank you for rescuing. They are the best breed.”

Another user wrote: “Aww he’s so happy to finally have a family.”
